Why did you start breeding?
I have had Basset Hounds for 30+ years. We enjoyed our hounds so much that we decided to start breeding and offering top-quality puppies to people in our area. Our program has grown and we currently have dogs located all over the United States!What makes your program special?
We are very particular about which dogs we will breed. We do not breed any dogs that may have health issues or issues with legs. Our dogs are our pets and we love them and enjoy them daily. They are somewhat spoiled, but that is what they deserve!Where do your breeding dogs live?

Dawn has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Dawn partners with them to find the best puppy match.
Price
“The price includes first vaccinations, vet health checks, and limited AKC registration. I require a deposit after having many buyers back out of stop contact after holding a puppy. I have refunded deposits for extenuating circumstances.”

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
