I'm Vanessa H., the breeder behind Hughes Shepherds located in Bethel, OH. We offer health tested, temperament tested german shepherd puppies. Raised indoors with small children ranging from age 1 to age 6. We also have toy poodles in the home that they are raised with until they leave our home. Parents are great with children and all animals. We have a variety of stock, medium plush and long hair. Mother is from polish lines, father is from west german showline.

“Puppies will be be temperament tested to fit appropriate homes needs.”

“This price includes the puppies akc registration, a copy of each parents pedigree, a copy of each parents health tests and a certificate of health from our veterinarian. Puppies will come with first shots and will be on a deworming schedule of every 2 weeks starting at 2 weeks old. I do not require a deposit to purchase one of my pups at 8 weeks. But i cannot hold a specific one without a deposit on that pup.”

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test, Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
