Darleen H.

Breeder of Golden Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Darleen H., the breeder behind Huntleigh Goldens located in Alhambra, IL. We have been breeding and raising Golden Retriever puppies for over 40 years, including show quality dogs and great family pets. Our dogs are excellent companions and we are focused on raising healthy and socialized Golden Retrievers.

Q. & A. with Darleen

  • Why did you start breeding?

After showing my first Golden I was mentored by a local breeder and now good friend who help me learn about the breed and breeding. I love raising puppies and matching them to their forever home.
  • What makes your program special?

When breeding dogs, I am careful to consider longevity and temperament. I actively investigate the role feeding, environment, and genetics play in a dog’s development. I like to stay in contact with the families to learn how the puppy is growing. As a breeder, I want to support you even after you bring your puppy home.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
