Meet the breeder

I'm Miku W., the breeder behind Icon Cane Corso & Heart N Soul Brussels Griffon located in Indiana. I’m Miku Walker, the breeder behind Icon Cane Corso and Heart N Soul Brussels Griffon. I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember and have dedicated more than 20 years to showing, raising, and preserving AKC-registered purebred dogs. My journey began with Brussels Griffons in 2003, and over the years, my passion for the breed and commitment to responsible breeding have only grown. In 2020, I welcomed my first Cane Corso into my family, and that experience marked the beginning of Icon Cane Corso. What started with one incredible dog quickly grew into a deep passion for the Cane Corso breed and a commitment to raising exceptional dogs with sound temperaments, structure, and loving dispositions. As a veteran-owned program, family is at the heart of everything I do. My dogs are not simply breeding dogs—they are truly members of my family. They are raised with love, care, and dedication, and I take great pride in providing them with the foundation they need to thrive in their forever homes. My goal is to preserve the qualities that make these breeds special while producing healthy, well-socialized companions that families can be proud to call their own.

Q. & A. with Miku

  • Why did you start breeding?

I began breeding after Bema earned her AKC Championship. Through that experience, I discovered that raising puppies with the goal of producing future champions—while also producing beautiful, healthy dogs with exceptional temperaments—quickly became an important part of my life. Today, I continue to work toward producing the next generation of outstanding dogs. I co-own dogs and have dogs being professionally handled in the show ring, where they are given the opportunity to prove themselves against the best in their breeds. For me, the ultimate goal goes beyond winning in the ring. I strive to produce future generations that are healthy, beautiful, well-tempered, structurally sound, and that closely represent the breed standard. Every generation is an opportunity to preserve what makes the breed special while continuing to improve upon it.
  • What makes your program special?

My breeding program is special because I believe a truly exceptional dog is more than just a beautiful dog. While structure, breed type, and appearance are important, I place equal value on health, temperament, and overall quality of life. My dogs are not simply part of my breeding program—they are my family, my companions, and, in many ways, my therapy. They bring love, comfort, and purpose into my life every day. Because of that, I am committed to producing dogs that are not only beautiful and true to their breed standard, but also healthy, stable, well-tempered, and capable of being wonderful lifelong companions. My goal is to preserve the qualities that make each breed special while putting the well-being of every dog first.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Brussels Griffon puppies include belge, red, black and tan, and black. Cane Corso puppies include gray and fawn, chestnut brindle, black, and black brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
