Meet the breeder

I'm Hope D., the breeder behind IdleWilde Shilohs located in Charlo, MT. IdleWilde Shiloh Shepherds are bred with intention and raised with care, from day one. We are very invested in both our rearing, and puppy placements so that each pup is equipped to excel, and placed in a home suited to their individual temperament and ability.

Q. & A. with Hope

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our experience with Shilohs began with a heartflet request from our youngst son, for a dog of his own. Riptide's inclusion in our life, and especially his bond with our son was transformative, and when paired with my life-long passion for animal husbandry, dog breeding was a natural segway from the livestock breeding already taking place at our ranch in north-western Montana.
  • What makes your program special?

Our ranch in beautiful north-western Montana has afforded us the opportunity to rear well balanced Shilohs through our own brand of "puppy culture". By the time our pups leave they have experienced numerous types of surfaces (hot, cold, grass, gravel, concrete, carpet, wood, etc) made many furry & feathered friends (cats, goats, cows, horses, chickens, etc) & received solid foundational training.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, black and beige, white, black and tan, black and cream, and black and silver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

It went amazing well! Hope is an amazing breeder, took allot of her time to explain about our new puppy and she really does care about placing the right personality with each new adoptive family. Highly recommended.
