I'm Irenne M., the breeder behind IMag Japanese Spitz located in Sebastopol, CA. I have been involved with the breed since 2004. I first was interested because I wanted a white dog- My first girl was Missetsu Dream Magic who was a love. The breed has caused me to travel the world to meet with like minded folks to better the breed here in the USA. I have met w/ breeders in New Zealand, Europe and communicate w/ many others. We have taken great pride in the breed.
I helped establish the Japanese Spitz Club America and I am head of the rescue here in the USA. We developed ethics and standards that match standards set for many decades world wide. We want to ensure the breed remains pure here in the states and do our best to breed quality puppies with knowledge from folks all around the world.
This is the best breed ever! We adore each and every one of our dogs and pups and are so blessed to be working with this breed! We have been involved with the Japanese Spitz since 2004!! This is a great breed of dog. They are gorgeous, affectionate, and fun-loving. We have lines from all over the world and we do a lot of research before importing and breeding to ensure quality and solid temperments.
Q. & A. with Irenne
Why did you start breeding?
It was organic. I was looking to add to my family as a single person- I added Magic- then I went on a trip to New Zealand and met with 2 girls and this is how Teka came to be. Decided to have 1 litter a year or 2 later- and slowly started from there.
What makes your program special?
The networking we do to bring in solid lines from around the world sets us apart. I have reached out and met with other breeders in other countries. I helped create the Japanese Spitz America Club to ensure quality and sound breeding. I am also the head of the rescue for the USA.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
