I'm Avril W., the breeder behind Imladris Shilohs located in Fayetteville, PA. We are tremendous fans of this magnificent breed. A well-bred and properly raised Shiloh is gentle in nature, intensely loyal, and extraordinarily intelligent. We breed for dogs with sound temperament and good health who make wonderful family pets.
Q. & A. with Avril
Why did you start breeding?
Up until 2006, all my pets were rescued. Then I met my first Shiloh! I was hooked. I fell in love, started researching, and realized that there was a need to preserve the breed. I want to be a part of keeping this breed viable into the future.
What makes your program special?
Health and temperament are always my first consideration when choosing a breeding pair. Extensive health testing of both sire and dam is a must. Research into both sides of the pedigree for the health of ancestors also plays an important part. Finally, looking at the confirmation of the breeding pair to complement or correct minor faults are considered.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
