I'm Kristi S., the breeder behind Indiana German Shepherds located in Chrisney, IN. Our AKC registered german shepherd pups are highly trainable and we expect them to be able to be trained to perform in many areas of expertise such as working as a service and/or therapy dog, search and rescue, security dog for home and/or personal protection, as well as could be a fantastic addition to someone's breeding program or a stunning guardian and excellent family companion.
Q. & A. with Kristi
Why did you start breeding?
When I had children, I bought a German shepherd for protection. Then I started doing research on pedigrees and what makes a quality shepherd. After that I decided I wanted to breed shepherds because I fell in love with the breed.
What makes your program special?
We breed west German show line shepherds both long and stock coat.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include stock and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Abigail, mom
German Shepherd
About Abigail
Abigail is a sweet loving girl and a wonderful mother. She has proven to pass her wonderful temperament along to her puppies she has produced in the past and I expect the same with this litter. She is a beauiful long coat female. Her puppies are going to be stunning as well. Abigail's sire is VA1 Bruce von Cohinor IGP3 and her dam is Xmas Halo von Schmidthof. Abigail's bloodlines have been in our breeding program for 4 generations now which began with our 1st German import - Jessy von der Rohburg who was out of VA2 Quantum von Arminius! This bloodline has been a fabulous foundation for our breeding program producing excellent temperament, structure, and good health.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Excellent level
Indiana German Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
