I'm Christine M., the breeder behind Ironheart American Staffordshire Terriers located in Bastrop County, TX. We are preservation breeders of Amstafs and have been breeding to reflect the original standard for over 35 years. It is such an honor to preserve the line of these incredible dogs, all the while creating companionship for others. This is where amazing temperament, intelligence, and beauty meet! Anyone who gets an Ironheart dog becomes a treasured part of our family.
Q. & A. with Christine
Why did you start breeding?
The Amstaf lines that I like best are rare in the overall population. Our Amstaf's are from champion stock and based on the old Rolls/X-Pert lines - which are behind the original Fraja dogs, the Sindelar dogs and the Mari-Don dogs. The Rolls/X-Pert lines are very hard to find, and we have dedicated ourselves to preserving their many fine traits. These lines appealed to us because the dogs exhibit the attributes that were so important to the breed when it was first registered with AKC.
What makes your program special?
Because we have dedicated ourselves to certain lines, we are able to offer puppies that are well line-bred and true to the standard. We have been fortunate to find dogs that go back to the lines we want to reproduce.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
