I'm Kati L., the breeder behind J & J Ranch located in Jacksonville, FL. Quality is more important than quantity with raising puppies. We are a family who loves our dogs and will strive to make sure our puppies go to loving and safe homes where they can thrive. Our dogs are our companions, protectors and helpers, we want them to go to families who feel the same.
Q. & A. with Kati
Why did you start breeding?
I had always had the dream of having my own farm one day and dogs were always included. I wanted dogs that could herd, protect, work and be family dogs. GSDs were a natural choice. Not many people have GSDs for farm animals or have them work in their original capacity (herding). I researched what it would take to breed responsibly so that having puppies would be an option for us.
What makes your program special?
Both of our dogs are family/farm dogs. They live in our home and are housebroken. Right now we are based on a small 5-acre ranch. We will be moving out to 33 acres in the future with the goal of having our GSDs herding and working on our farm.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Lucy, mom
German Shepherd
About Lucy
Lucy has a huge personality! Our friends and family laugh because you can look at her face and see if she's happy, annoyed, tired, etc. She is such a fun dog to be around with high energy and prey drive. She is always ready to walk, play, work, run or learn. Lucy has been easy to train because of her intelligence and eagerness to learn. Don't let her high drive fool you, when I'm working in the house, you can find her napping or chewing a bone not a foot from me.
She has an excellent nose and makes quick work of finding myself, Zohan or any toys she may have been separated from.
Zohan, dad
German Shepherd
About Zohan
Zohan is always a joy to be around! He has a medium drive (although he kicks it into high gear when you have a ball). Zohan gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is friendly to both adults and children. Zohan loves water and jumping in the pond behind our house with Lucy during the Florida summers. He is a quick learner and enjoys having something to do. While he has the energy for work and play, he also is content to lay around the house.
