Meet the breeder

I'm Jena S., the breeder behind Jena's Blissful Bernese Mountain Dogs located in Elida, OH. My name is Jena and I am a mom & a passionate dog lover, I take a hands-on approach to raising every dog in our program. Our dogs are not kennel dogs—they’re part of our family. They live in our home, run across our land, and grow up with plenty of love.

Why did you start breeding?
We have always been dog lovers. Since I was a kid I have always owned a dog & wanted a Bernese Mountain Dog. I grew up with my grandmother breeding dogs & I loved being alongside that journey. As I got older & learned more about Berners I became more passionate & now I want to share them with the world so everyone can experience the love of a Bernese Mountain Dog.
What makes your program special?
We are dedicated to the Bernese Mountain Dog breed with our ethical & responsible breeding. Our dogs are family-raised, health tested, & are selected for temperament, structure, & longevity. We focus on producing well-socialized puppies that become part of the family for many years.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black tan and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Jena

Jena has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Jena partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“Puppies are matched in deposit/gender order after they are temperament tested at 5/6 weeks old.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Health tested parents, AKC pet registration, dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, ENS & ESI curriculum and puppy culture. All of our puppies are the same price regardless of gender or litter.”

Contract & health guarantee

Jena may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Jena offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Jena directly.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
