We breed towards the standard for correct structure and temperament. We test our dogs for breed recommended genetic tests and OFA.

Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding because of my deep love for Lapponian Herders. I quickly became fascinated by their temperament, intelligence, and beauty. I strive to be a responsible breeder who prioritize health, genetics, and sound temperaments. This inspired me to start my breeding program with a focus on these values. My goal is to make a positive impact on the breed.What makes your program special?
We exceed recommended breed health testing by also doing a cardiac screening, We raise our litters by the Puppy Culture protocol.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and tan and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Shana
Shana has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Shana partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 9 weeks old.
“We take great care in matching the right puppy to the right family and situation. We evaluate puppies at 8 weeks for conformation/ structure and temperament screening. Buyers can note what puppy they are drawn to-but the final placements are the breeder's decision. We work with each family closely. All puppies go on a limited registration; which can later be changed to full if buyer shows commitment to showing and works with an approved breed mentor.”

“Genetic DNA testing. Microchip with prepaid lifetime AKC Reunite enrollment Up-to-date vaccinations (Distemper / Parvovirus) Written conditional health guarantee and contract Prepaid AKC registration and one month of complimentary pet insurance. After puppies are born, we require a deposit to ensure placement. We accept a limited number of deposits based on litter size and the possibility of retaining one or two puppies. Deposits are non-refundable and do not guarantee a specific puppy. We do not make our “show keeper” selections until 8 weeks. After evaluation, we share observations on temperament and characteristics and help match each family with the puppy best suited for their home.”

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Multifocal Retinopathy 3 (CMR3), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Glycogen Storage Disease Type II or Pompe's Disease (GSD II)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
