I'm Julie D., the breeder behind Julsby Jack Russell Terriers located in Crestline, CA. As a Hobby Breeder, we breed occasional litters of Jack Russell Terriers when the time is right for us to carefully raise the next generation of Puppies here at Camp Julsby. Our Puppies are bred with a focus on Health, temperament, function, and beauty.

Why did you start breeding?
People often times ask why I breed. I am passionate about and dedicated to the Breeds that have chosen me. I have created a legacy that has shared my home and homes of my puppy families, now for several generations. I have many families return to get their next puppy. I breed because I want my children's children to have access to mentally and physically healthy well-bred companions.What makes your program special?
In 1995 I purchased my first Labrador, which is the Breed that founded Camp Julsby. Our Labradors have been included in pedigrees for top winning kennels world wide. We recently retired our Labrador breeding program and have begun to focus more fully on our Jack Russell Terriers. These little guys are a great combination of Silly, Sass, and Snuggles. They are ready for any adventure.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Julie partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“Jack Russell Puppies meet JRTCA guidelines. Your pup will go home after being vet checked, wormed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Reservation Fees are accepted only after a litter is born and we can determine we have a puppy for your family to reserve.”

Litter update on 26 Jan •…Let's call this ground Zero. Over the last few days, Milo and Maybe were allowed to breed. Trust me, breeding is never forced. Ethical breeders control when and which dogs are allowed to breed. During the first weeks after breeding, I like to watch mammary development to guess if my girls have settled into a pregnancy. On my Facebook page, I bring my followers along for the journey with weekly booby pictures so they can play the game, too. In about a month, I will bring Maybe to the vet for an ultrasound. This procedure will confirm if she is pregnant and, if we are lucky, will give us a general nose count of how many pups we will be expecting. Sorry, we won't be able to tell the sexes of pups. Pregnancy lasts right around two months. So, let the anticipation for this hopeful litter begin. :)

Program update on 16 Jan •…The South Coast Jack Russell Terrier Club is a JRTCA affiliate club. I am an active member serving as the Club's vice president for the next 2 years. We would love it if you were able to join us at our Fun Days or come to our annual trial. There are so many dogs to see and an amazing group of JRT people to connect with. We offer clinics on racing and go to ground. This weekend, we will also have a Brush Hunt Clinic.

Litter update on 12 Jan •…Maybe is in heat. We are one step closer to our 2026 Spring Litter. This timing would put pups due at the end of March if everything goes as planned. JRTCA Registered Parents with full health Tested BAER, CAER, DNA clear PLL, DM, SCA, cardiac, and patella to meet JRTCA registration requirements.

Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA), JRTCA Registry
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
