I'm Melissa H., the breeder behind Junkyard Xolos located in Tecumseh, OK. Please take a moment to read this entire description. We are passionate about preserving and protecting the incredible, historic Xoloitzcuintli. Our dogs are not only shown in conformation, but are also cherished companions in all of life’s adventures. Our breeding program is carefully planned, focusing only on dogs that are exemplary representations of the breed standard. Our goal is to produce puppies that will positively contribute to the breed and thrive in the homes that love them. Xolos are a primitive breed and are not the right fit for every household. We strongly encourage prospective owners to research the breed thoroughly before making a decision. When possible, we hope our puppies will go on to achieve their AKC championships. We are happy to mentor new owners in the show ring or to handle the dogs ourselves. We require all new owners to enroll their puppy in a socialization and/or training program after bringing them home, as early development is critical. As part of our long-term commitment to this breed, we maintain lifelong contact with our puppy owners. This allows us to track temperament, health, and overall development throughout each dog’s life. We feed a raw diet and encourage owners who are able to do so to consider the same. However, proper raw feeding requires research, dedication, and a thorough understanding of canine nutrition.

Melissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Melissa partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
“We match puppies to their new homes at approximately 7–8 weeks of age, after completing temperament assessments and initial conformation evaluations. This process allows us to make informed placements based on each puppy’s strengths, personality, and the goals of their prospective home.”

“The price includes AKC registration, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, a comprehensive health record, a written health guarantee, a starter kit, and lifetime breeder support. Non refundable $500 deposit to hold a puppy.”
Melissa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Melissa offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Melissa directly.
When you pay and communicate on Good Dog, you’re covered by Payment Protection.
