I'm Kari M., the breeder behind Kalabria located in Delta, PA. We breed and show top-quality dogs. Our heavy involvement in the show world speaks to the standards that we breed our dogs by. We take responsible breeding very seriously, and we’re thorough in health testing and caring for our dogs. We make sure each puppy gets the proper group and individual attention that it needs to thrive, and we do all that we can to prepare them for their future roles and families.
Q. & A. with Kari
Why did you start breeding?
I started in dogs 27 years ago, wanting a Borzoi. I worked my way through junior showmanship with my first Borzoi, to develop a love for training which drew me to becoming a professional handler. I have campaigned Samoyeds and Borzoi into the top 10 rankings. Won the Samoyed and Borzoi national specialty. Handled many dogs to specialty wins, group wins, group placements and championships.
What makes your program special?
I focus on health testing, temperament, training and matching the right puppy with the right home. I do not settle for less than superior quality in the type I breed for, for conformation as structure aids in health.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
