Meet the breeder

I'm Laureena A., the breeder behind Kamaay Whippets located in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. We are a small hobby breeder located in Northeast Ohio, dedicated to raising exceptional Whippets with a strong focus on health, temperament, and quality. Every puppy is raised with the love, attention, and care they deserve from the very beginning.

Q. & A. with Laureena

Why did you start breeding?
Originally, I was an equestrian major and spent my days training and showing horses. When life took me in a different direction, I chose to leave school and focus on raising my daughter. Looking for a new hobby, I decided to explore the world of dog shows. It offered many of the same elements I loved about showing horses, but on a smaller and more affordable scale.
What makes your program special?
We are committed to producing healthy, happy, and well-balanced dogs that exemplify the breed standard in both structure and temperament. Our focus is on breeding sound, correct, and even-tempered Whippets that make wonderful companions as well as successful show dogs. Our dogs and puppies are raised in our home as part of our family, not in a kennel environment.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black brindle, fawn, fawn brindle, blue fawn, and blue brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Laureena

Laureena has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Laureena partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“Please note that a deposit does not reserve a specific puppy. Puppy selections are made after individual evaluations are completed at approximately 8 weeks of age. This allows us to assess each puppy's structure, temperament, and overall development. Our priority is to ensure that every puppy is matched with the right family. Placements are made based on each puppy's temperament and personality, as well as the lifestyle, goals, and needs of the family. We believe thoughtful placement helps set both the puppy and its new family up for a successful, lifelong relationship.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit that secures a spot in a litter. The remaining $1,500 is due at pickup, before taxes & fees.

“Age-appropriate deworming, 8 week vaccination, paid AKC registration, Health certificate, Microchip, Leash and collar, starter food, variety of helpful goodies and information. A deposit secures your place for a puppy from our current litter. We do not accept deposits until the puppies have been born and are thriving.”

Contract & health guarantee

Laureena may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
