I'm Kara B., the breeder behind Kara's Basset Hounds located in Poplarville, MS. We fell in love with this breed and own 3 beautiful bassets. They are silly, sweet and have loads of personality that keep us on our toes in the best possible way.

Why did you start breeding?
We fell in Love with our guys and wanted to share this wonderful breed with others.
What makes your program special?
We offer healthy well rounded European bassets. We aren’t a large kennel only owning one female and 2 males. These guys are our pets first and the puppies are raise right along with the family and not in a kennel.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black tan and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Kara

Kara has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Kara partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We speak with the families to see if they are ready to bring in a hound. We make them aware of personalities as they grow to make sure their home is suitable.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $4,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes, dewormings, veterinary exams, vaccines and AKC paperwork. Deposit is the same price for all our puppies.”

Contract & health guarantee

Kara may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Kara offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Kara directly.
