I'm Stacey R., the breeder behind Kaunis Joki Kennels located in Roseburg, OR. We raise Lapponian Herders in a loving, involved home environment following Puppy Culture protocols. We focus on health, temperament, and on raising well-adjusted, well-socialized puppies that can be pets or working dogs. We aim to give these puppies the very best start in life. Parents are clear for genetic diseases with a full panel by Embark and have healthy hips and elbows certified by OFA. We look forward to connecting with you!
Q. & A. with Stacey
Why did you start breeding?
There are a limited number of Lapponian Herders in the USA. When I was thinking of breeding my female, I realized the need for fresh, healthy bloodlines and imported a male from Finland. I have since imported a brown female. I believe that health testing and proper puppy-rearing are vital to setting up dogs and their families for success.
What makes your program special?
My program is special because I hold a deep love and respect for these dogs. I have a desire to do right by each and every puppy and I am passionate about preserving the line of these incredible companions. I am very conscious about who I home my puppies to and always ensure that each one goes to the best home possible complementary to its personality and ability. I can provide extensive knowledge and guidance for any family looking to bring home one of these wonderful dogs. I would be honored to introduce you to your next beloved Lapponian Herder puppy!
Where do your breeding dogs live?
