I'm Imran K., the breeder behind Khanguard German Shepherds located in Catonsville, MD. Our Puppies are beautiful black and red, high quality with great temperaments with high training ability making them perfect for great family dogs as well as for companion, service and protection. Our German Shepherd Puppies are sold with a written One year health guarantee. All of our breeding dogs have their Hips and Elbows certified either Excellent or Good and Normal for the elbows from either the SV in Germany or the OFA in the US and all of our breeding dogs are DM tested. Our German Shepherd Puppies are family raised and loved. The parents are on the premises and our breeding is for great charachter and excellent temperament as well as beautiy and great trainability. We are a small German Shepherd breeder which allows us to give all of our dogs and Puppies the love and attention and all the time they need for proper socialization. Our goal here at Khanguard German Shepherds is your complete satisfaction from receiving a wonderful new German Shepherd Puppy.

Why did you start breeding?
During my early life, my family bred championship horses and I was an award-winning jockey. In my exposure to the intense world of horse breeding and racing, I developed an understanding of the qualities necessary for raising high-level animals. Successful breeding can only be accomplished through dedication, care, attention to detail, and love for the animal. It also requires a high level of discipline, precision, and passion.What makes your program special?
Khan focuses on strong genetics for high predictability for a possitive outcome for a superb temperament, correct conformation and coats with rich black and red pigment and beautiful heads and training ability as well as all of the traits the German Shepherd is known for including loyalty, courage and dependabilty. We breed all West German proven show lines. Our German Shepherd Dogs have some of the best bloodlines in the world in their pedigree and we continue to produce the best German Shepherd dogs possible.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
