I'm Kathy K., the breeder behind Kilt's Westies located in Fenton, MI. Kilt's Westies has been in existence for over 30 years. Always breeding for excellent quality, health, and temperament. We only breed according to the AKC standard. I am dedicated to providing happy, healthy, and well-socialized pups for others to welcome into their family. I love my pups and know you will love them, too!
Q. & A. with Kathy
Why did you start breeding?
I purchased our first Westie as a pet in 1972
and fell in love with the breed. I feel purebred dogs are the only way to know the true meaning of each breed. Several years later I attended some dog shows and became interested in competing in conformation. My first champion finished in 1988. Since then I have produced more than a dozen champions to date.
What makes your program special?
I keep only a few dogs at a time and feel the individual attention they get not only from me but also from the grandchildren, make them very happy and social specimens. I only breed according to the AKC standard. My small personal kennel occasionally offers well socialized retired adults to special homes.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
