Meet the breeder

I'm Cyrena R., the breeder behind Knight Bernese located in Pekin, IL. We raise our puppies with total care and attention so they can become well-socialized and loving additions to their forever homes. It’s important to us that we continue to improve our program and share our knowledge with our buyer families. We want to better the breed through thorough health testing and selective breeding decisions.

Q. & A. with Cyrena

  • Why did you start breeding?

I worked as a Certified Veterinary Technician for 13 years before getting married. I have owned Bernese for almost 20 years and been breeding them for 10 years. Breeding Bernese has been a way for me to do what I love to do while being a stay at home mom raising my 4 boys.
  • What makes your program special?

Our puppies are holistically raised with lots of love and attention. We focus on raising quality puppies with good temperaments. Our puppies are examined by our vet, de wormed with a natural de wormer, and vaccinated with natural vaccines before going to their new homes. We are happy to answer any questions you might have and are available for the life of the puppy.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black rust and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Cyrena was so wonderful and very responsive about our new puppy! She even sent us multiple photos a week that we got to look forward to:) She helped us with picking out a quality brand of food and supported us with ideas to keep our puppy healthy. We are in love with our sweet, Waffle. We appreciate Cyrena for being so kind to us through the process of getting him! Thank you!! You're friends the Frees & Waffle:)
