I'm Lucinda P., the breeder behind Kooikerhondjes Van Fogelsangh located in Ogden, IL. Our mission is to breed the very best dogs that we can, to raise them with love, and to select their future homes with careful attention.
Q. & A. with Lucinda
Why did you start breeding?
I found breeders in US to be sparse and their spay/neuter contracts to be off putting. I felt they didn’t care for the breed, not to mention the quality was lacking. My family decided to import a breeding pair and became involved in the breed club and AKC. Breeders from Europe were only exporting mediocre dogs and we were able to import quality dogs to improve the breeding stock in the US.
What makes your program special?
Our ties to the home country of the breed set us apart. We have helped many of the breeders across the US import quality dogs to start their breeding programs with and support breeding for temperament. Our dogs are all health tested and have earned their Canine Good Citizen title before they are considered for breeding. We are passionate about the breed; with a conversation that becomes obvious.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
