I'm Steve S., the breeder behind Kruegerhaus German Shepherds located in Wahoo, NE. The goal of our breeding program is to produce confident, heathy, well-rounded dogs, with stable temperaments, paired with good orthopedics and correct conformation. We prefer to work and share our homes with high-drive dogs with balanced prey and defense. This makes for a serviceable dog out in the working field, or in the home as an active family companion.

Why did you start breeding?
We were wanting to better the breed & to breed dogs that we liked to live with & work.What makes your program special?
All breeding stock is health tested through the OFA or SV. We also do Embark testing. We offer a contract to the buyers that has a warranty that covers hips/elbows & genetic diseases. We also offer lifetime breeder support. This means at any time in the puppy or dog's life we will be there to help with questions or help with training. Honesty & being upfront has helped cement our reputation.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

"All of our puppies are the same price regardless of color or gender. Price includes contract, warranty, registration, lifetime breeder support & microchip. We do offer a 10% military & law enforcement discount."

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
DNA Coat/Trait Panel, GenSol Diagnostics DNA Testing, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), DNA Disease Panel, Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
