I'm Demi F., the breeder behind Kuiper Siberians located in Plain City, OH. I strive to prove the quality of my dogs through health testing (eyes and hips), titling in AKC conformation dog shows, competing in various performance and companion sports, and by dryland mushing. My goal is to produce healthy, temperamentally and conformationally sound, biddable workers.
Q. & A. with Demi
Why did you start breeding?
My first Siberian, Piper, inspired me to start dryland mushing and with that, I truly fell in love with the breed. Dryland mushing opened many other doors to other fun sports and eventually conformation dog shows. I was very particular with what I wanted in my foundation: amazing temperament, good health, biddability, mushing drive, and sound movement.
What makes your program special?
My dogs participate in AKC conformation dog shows, mushing, and various sports to prove their quality in structure, in harness, and in temperament. My dogs are always health tested to OFA CHIC standards. I truly believe the Siberian Husky should live up to their description as a "willing worker" and "eager and agreeable companion," as described by our breed club.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Excellent level
Kuiper Siberians reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Siberian Huskies.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
