Meet the breeder

I'm Barb D., the breeder behind Lakeshore Cavaton's and Cavapoo's located in Hamilton, MI. I am a small, family-owned breeder of healthy, happy little fur babies. I was dedicated to the Cavaton breed exclusively but recently expanded my program to including the Cavapoo breed after finding an excellent poodle stud. My parent dogs are AKC registered and have been genetically tested and OFA certified. Some breeder's do minimal testing on their breeding dog's. I feel this is a disservice to you and chose to do annual OFA testing to assure our parent dog's are healthy. Yes, this is expensive but I want your new fur baby to have the best start that I can give them. I feel they are and always will be a part of my extended family. My dog's live in our home, not in a kennel and are spoiled daily. I look forward to connecting with you!

Q. & A. with Barb

  • Why did you start breeding?

I love the Cavaton breed. I wanted to put my passion for them to good use. Breeding healthy, happy puppies is my way to give back to the breed and the families who love them. My dogs have brought me so much joy and happiness that I wanted to give back to them by producing the highest quality dogs and providing them a wonderful life with wonderful families. I want nothing more than to see each of my dogs and puppies shine!
  • What makes your program special?

I am a small family breeder. My dogs and puppies are raised in my home and are loved like family. My goal is to produce healthy, loving dogs for families, and I strive to prepare all our Cavaton's and Cavapoo's to excel in their forever homes. My program is special because of my dogs. Cavaton's and Cavapoo's are such a joy, and I find so much fulfillment in raising and preparing them for their loving, forever homes.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Cavaton puppies include black and tan, white, tri-color, blenheim, and apricot. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
