Meet the breeder

I'm Barb D., the breeder behind Lakeshore Cavatons located in Hamilton, MI. We are a small, family-owned breeder of healthy, happy little fur babies. We are dedicated to the Cavaton breed exclusively. Our parent dogs are AKC registered and have been genetically tested and OFA certified. Some breeder's do minimal testing on their breeding dog's. We feel this is a disservice to you and chose to do annual OFA testing to assure our parent dog's are healthy. Yes, this is expensive but we want your new fur baby to have the best start that we can give them. We feel they are and always will be a part of our extended family. Our dog's live in our home, not in a kennel and are spoiled daily. We look forward to connecting with you!

Q. & A. with Barb

  • Why did you start breeding?

We love the Cavaton breed. We wanted to put our passion for them to good use. Breeding healthy, happy puppies is our way to give back to the breed and the families who love them. Our dogs have brought us so much joy and happiness that we wanted to give back to them by producing the highest quality dogs and providing them a wonderful life with wonderful families. We want nothing more than to see each of our dogs and puppies shine!
  • What makes your program special?

We are a small family breeder. Our dogs and puppies are raised in our home and are loved like family. Our goal is to produce healthy, loving dogs for families, and we strive to prepare all our Cavatons to excel in their forever homes. Our program is special because of our dogs. Cavatons are such a joy, and we find so much fulfillment in raising and preparing them for their loving, forever homes.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and tan, white, tri-color, blenheim, and apricot. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
