I'm Jennifer G., the breeder behind Larkwood Australian Shepherds located in Marshall, IN. Our Aussies are AKC/ASCA registered, health tested and shown. We mainly compete in ASCA conformation, obedience & rally. We raise very few litters (one per year or less), and puppies leave on spay/neuter contracts.

Why did you start breeding?
I started breeding Aussies in 2015 under the guidance of a breed mentor.What makes your program special?
I spend a lot of time planning litters, health testing, and getting puppies ready to leave for their new homes.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Piper is an easy going girl. She gets along well with all of our dogs, and is good with our 4 year old daughter. She is very bidable and loves to work and learn. She is currently training in obedience, rally and agility.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Brucellosis, Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Profile, PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
