I'm Linda M., the breeder behind Lexylews Montana Whippets located in Belgrade, MT. Basically retired married for forty two years have two grown sons and three adult whippets. Since finding this breed six years ago my husband and I have had the most joyful life watching the grace and beauty of them. Our life is 24/365 whippet and any of our puppy owners will tell you that.
Q. & A. with Linda
Why did you start breeding?
By accident, never ever thought I would be a breeder, until THE WHIPPET. So many people stop us, where ever we go wanting to find out more about them. So after searching for two years we found the perfect match for Lexy and they have proven to be good parents.
What makes your program special?
We searched for good blood that has stood the test of time. 100% quality food. GCH and CH blood on all sides bring strong resolute puppies- in intelligence, agility and beauty as well as stamina. Our whippets are not just breeder dogs, they are our family dogs and live in our home not in a kennel.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue, white and black, fawn brindle, and black brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Oh my gosh my babies are growing too fast!
Parent dogs
Lotte, mom
Whippet
About Lotte
Lotte is super gentle and very reserved. She loves to run isn't overly prey driven but will if told to do so. She is very fast and can compete in FAST CAT. She is loving and kind. Loves to play fetch and go for long walks. Her breeding is stellar and comes from a long line of beautiful white and blacks. She is striking in beauty and stature. Comands attention everywhere she goes.
Lewis, dad
Whippet
About Lewis
Lewis is a wonderful well bred whippet with GC blood on both sides from the Sporting Fields line. He has produced three litters with our Lexy from the GC blood of Snow Caps Avalanche.. Our next litter is with Charlotte Grace "Lotte" with a mix of Champions all down her line. Lewis is a clown and very sporting as is Lotte so we expect nothing less of the pups. Both are very loving and calm. Not a huge prey drive in either which we have purposely tried to breed out for a calmer natured offspring. Both are FAST CAT contenders if called in for speed. Lewis puppies have been sweet and very intelligent in all 15 of his puppies.

Linda was wonderful, through and through. This is the sweetest puppy we could have hoped for, had her for 2 months now. We feel blessed and lucky to consider our pup as part of our family! Our pup is sweet, snuggly and cuddly, and great with the kids, tolerating our 7 year old who constantly carries her around like a stuffed animal, and running from him every chance she gets (lolol), yet still showing him patience and love back. We are truly blessed to have this little creature as part of our family, and love her to death. She was the perfect choice for our family.
She has psychotic bursts of energy out in our backyard, especially as the kids swim. But then gets inside and acts like she ran 25 miles, ready to crash out and snuggle. Such a fun little creature. We can be anywhere and all she wants is snuggles and loves. Took us 6 weeks to potty-train her, but all that is on track now, and no pee-accidents in the house in 2 weeks now, at 4 months old. We are thrilled with our new family member! Treat 'em with love and attention, you will feel how we do!

My wife and I are so pleased with our decision to get Ziggy from Linda and John. After having a nightmare experience with another breeder, we found the complete opposite with Linda. She was so helpful and interactive throughout the entire process. We were texting her constantly and she was always more than happy to answer all of our questions. We really looked forward to our daily updates and pictures/videos. Literally everyday she would send something. Our puppy was raised in their home, he was socialized, and they were calling him by his new name as soon as we made the decision to move forward. Ziggy is healthy, happy and such a joy. We could not possibly recommend Lexylews Montana Whippets enough and we plan to get our next Whippet from them in the near future. 😁

Shortly After agreeing to buy a male puppy I had an accident which required orthopedic surgery. I wrote back the breeder and told them what happened to me and that there was no way I could raise a puppy right now with a long physical therapy road ahead of me. They immediately offered to raise him, train him and deliver him to me as soon as I was ready regardless of how long it takes me. It was such a kind and generous offer and early next year I’ll have my new dog! John & Linda Miller are the greatest people I’ve met in years and I met them right here on Gooddog.com!

Working with Linda was an absolute pleasure. What began with an hour telephone conversation ended with Leo coming into our lives. Linda and John are so dedicated to finding forever homes for their pups. She knows the Whippet breed well and is a wealth of information. Linda shared pics and videos of the pups daily showing their progress and was very responsive to our questions. The entire process through Good Dog was seamless. We are so fortunate to have connected with Linda and doubt Leo will be our one and only.

We couldn’t be more grateful to Linda and John for bringing such wonderful whippets into our lives! Our two whippets have been the most loving, healthy, and well-socialized companions, and we are beyond excited to welcome our third from them soon.
From the start, Linda and John have been incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and passionate about their dogs. Their dedication to responsible breeding and early socialization truly shows in the temperament and health of their puppies. They have always been there to answer our questions, provide guidance, and ensure the best for both their dogs and the families they go to.
If you’re looking for a whippet from a breeder who truly cares, we cannot recommend Linda and John enough. Their love for the breed is unmatched, and we feel so lucky to have found them. Thank you, Linda and John, for everything!

Linda was wonderful in working with to find my next dog. I was specifically in search of a Whippet and that’s how I cane across Lexylew Montana Whippets. Seeing all of the information provided I could tell Linda was a transparent and responsible breeder. After getting to speak on the phone I knew it was going to be a great fit. Linda does vet her clients and this is absolutely the correct thing to do. Certain breeds are not for everyone and pairing them with the right home and situation is paramount in raising a Whippet. I could not be happier with my experience and am thankful every day for Linda pairing me with my girl, Comet.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
