I'm Taylor R., the breeder behind Lion and The Lamb Kennel located in Arvada, CO. At Lion & The Lamb, we purposefully breed Belgian Malinois & Aussies with an emphasis on health, temperaments, strong nerves, confidence, and working ability. Our goal is to preserve the breed while producing well-rounded dogs capable of excelling in sport, work, service, and active family homes.

Why did you start breeding?
My journey into breeding grew from my love of training and competing with German Shepherds, and Belgian Malinois. As I learned more about genetics, temperament, health, and working ability, I became passionate about purposeful breeding. With guidance from an experienced breeding mentor, my goal became producing healthy, stable dogs that preserve and improve the breed.What makes your program special?
What makes my program special is the intention behind every pairing and puppy. We prioritize health, genetics, stable nerves, temperament, and working ability. We are not simply 'producing litters'. Puppies are raised with early development, exposure, and training in mind, carefully evaluated as individuals, and thoughtfully matched to homes where they can truly thrive.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Belgian Malinois puppies include black sable, mahogany, fawn, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Taylor
Taylor has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Taylor partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

Your deposit secures your place in the litter's selection order. We'll discuss your goals, lifestyle, and needs in depth to help guide you toward the puppy best suited for your home.”

About Echo Psalm
Echo Psalm — The Heart Behind This Pairing Echo is my soul dog and, in so many ways, the reason I’m passionate about reproducing this particular type of Belgian Malinois. She is not registered, meaning her puppies also WILL NOT be registered. Her intelligence is incredible. I can introduce Echo to a new command, trick, concept, or environment, and by the end of the session, she understands what I’m asking of her. She doesn’t just memorize behaviors—she thinks, problem-solves, and genuinely wants to figure things out with her handler. Anytime someone comes to me interested in dog training, Echo is my demo dog. She is the dog I can pull out and confidently use to demonstrate something new because of how quickly she learns, how connected she is to her handler, and how willing she is to work. But what makes her truly special is her balance. She has the intelligence, athleticism, trainability, and capability people fall in love with in a Malinois without constantly living in that go, go, go state. She can work when asked, learn incredibly quickly, and then turn it off and simply exist with her family. That is exactly what I want to reproduce. People so frequently are carelessly buying this breed from just anyone and then being left with a decision later when they realize they may be “too much dog”. I carefully select each puppy for their home based off what the owner is wanting within the breed, and their lifestyle. I want people to have the opportunity to experience what makes this breed extraordinary without feeling like they have to entertain a dog every waking second of the day. Echo has shown me that you can have an incredibly capable Malinois while still having a dog who is enjoyable to live life with. She is intelligent. She is versatile. She is affectionate. She is incredibly handler-oriented. She has an amazing work ethic when asked for it and an equally valuable ability to settle when the work is finished. Echo isn’t just a dog I chose for my breeding program. She’s the dog who helped define what I want my program to produce. If I could bottle everything I love about her and give other people the opportunity to experience it in their own dog, I would. This pairing is my opportunity to try.

About Rocket
Rocket is the kind of Malinois that brings working genetics without being “too much dog” for everyday life. He comes from strong NVBK working lineage with IGP influence, but personally carries a much more moderate, manageable level of drive—making him an incredibly enjoyable dog to live with. He is structurally gorgeous, athletic and balanced, with a powerful dark appearance that immediately grabs attention. Rocket has particularly strong detection instincts and genuinely enjoys using his nose. He’s naturally curious, environmentally aware, and methodical when searching rather than simply relying on frantic energy. What makes Rocket special is his off switch. He has working ability behind him, but he doesn’t need to be working every second of the day. He can engage when something interests him and then settle back into being a companion. He’s affectionate, goofy, personable, and genuinely enjoyable to have around. His pedigree brings generations selected for working ability, athleticism, trainability and utility, while Rocket himself contributes a more moderate temperament that can complement a higher-drive female nicely. About Rosie
Rosie, affectionately known as Cowgirl, is the kind of girl who makes it nearly impossible not to fall in love with her. Her dam is 100% Rimfire lines, and Rosie brings together beautiful breed type, sound structure, health, and one of the sweetest temperaments we could ask for in our program. She is structurally correct and sound and clear of the genetic diseases included in her health testing. She has a gorgeous shorter muzzle and the cutest freckles across her face—markings we’re especially excited to potentially see passed down in this pairing. Rosie absolutely has the ability and willingness to work. Whether she believes her most important job is working, however, is another story. Given the choice, she’s probably climbing into your bed, curling up as close as physically possible, and volunteering for the position of full-time cuddle buddy. Her connection to people is what makes her particularly special. Rosie doesn’t know a stranger. She naturally gravitates toward people and is remarkably attentive when someone seems upset or something feels different. Because of those qualities, she will be going through PTSD service-dog training, where we hope to develop her natural tendency to notice changes in a person’s state and seek them out to provide comfort into reliable, trained tasks.

About Baz
Baz is an exceptional ASDR-registered working-line Miniature Australian Shepherd, combining beautiful breed type with the temperament and natural ability we value in our program. He is out of a sought-after sire, Jett, who has proven himself both in the show ring and in herding, and Baz carries many of those qualities forward. He has a beautiful, structurally correct build with excellent breed type, a shorter muzzle, minimal white facial markings, and some of the brightest ice-blue eyes you’ll ever see. He is also clear of the genetic diseases included in his health testing, giving us confidence in what he contributes genetically to future generations. What really makes Baz special, though, is his temperament. He is incredibly laid-back, gentle, and affectionate with his people, while naturally protective of his family and pack. Inside the home, he has an easy off-switch: calm, docile, and content to settle with his family. The moment he steps outside and there is a job to do, that working instinct comes alive. He is attentive, willing, and ready to work. Baz represents exactly the balance we love in a working Mini Aussie: structure, intelligence, natural instinct, stability, and an excellent family temperament all wrapped up in one striking little dog.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
