Q. & A. with Pam
Why did you start breeding?
We acquired our first Ridgeback in 1993, while raising our young family. Throughout the years we became more involved in canine activities. In 2008 we acquired our first show dog and soon to be AKC Champion. After many years of participating in AKC conformation, performance, and obedience events we bred our first Ridgeback in 2017. She was ranked as the #7 female in the country and a Top 25 dog in 2015.
What makes your program special?
At Lions Gate, we adhere to the responsibilities that follow the Code of Ethics of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States, (RRCUS). We strive to support protecting and preserving the AKC breed standards recognized for the Rhodesian Ridgeback.
We do not breed often, only after achieving an AKC Championship and evaluating all health screenings; is a breeding considered. Above all, our dogs are our beloved companions first, and are raised together in our home.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
