Meet the breeder

I'm Lisa R., the breeder behind Lisa's Canines located in Pelzer, SC. I’ve owned and loved the German Shepherd for over 30 years and bred in the early 2000s. Now returning with renewed passion, focused on temperament, health testing, sound genetics, and early development. Each pairing is thoughtfully planned to produce stable, well-structured dogs true to the breed.

Q. & A. with Lisa

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding from having a deep admiration for the intelligence and versatility of the German Shepherd. I wanted to better understand pedigree, temperament, and how thoughtful pairings shape future generations. That curiosity evolved into a serious commitment to responsible, and planned breeding.
  • What makes your program special?

My breeding program is built on proven Czech and European working lines with four generations of documented, titled ancestry. I prioritize pedigree research, health testing, and genetic responsibility. Each pairing is intentionally planned to produce confident, stable German Shepherds with strong structure and balanced temperament.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
