I'm Joanna W., the breeder behind Little Patch of Heaven located in Independence, KS. We offer beautiful top quality basset hounds. From our home to yours. Our dogs are a part of our family and are bred for their health and temperament. We strive to breed healthy dogs with great personality and all the things you want in a basset hound.

Why did you start breeding?
I have always loved the breed and we just fell in love with our first 2 dogs and we want to better the breed with great health testing and exceptional socialization that we offer all our puppies.What makes your program special?
Not only do our dogs have excellent bloodlines, but they’re also very well loved and cared for. They are raised on our small hobby farm exposed to chickens, geese, ducks, and Guinea fowl. And brought up in our home around our children.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black brown and white and black and brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Joanna
Joanna has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $1,300 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“Price includes AKC registration Health examination deworming and vaccinations. Puppies will also go home with a starter pack. With collar, leash, record of vaccination and deworming, blanket and toy with scent of mom and litter mates and enough food for the first week. All deposits are non- refundable unless there is a problem on our end then you will be refunded.”
Contract & health guarantee
Joanna may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
