I'm Holly H., the breeder behind Littlewood Shepherds located in Baldwinville, MA. German Shepherds are an incredible breed, and I decided to start my breeding program in order to preserve the wonderful qualities I found in my dogs. They excel both in their work & as companions. I am dedicated to improving my lines with each generation. My dogs have their schutzhund titles and our beautiful specimens of the breed.

Program update on 07 Apr •…Awesome, well-bred, 11 week old females from top working line West German dogs. Both parents are schutzhund titled and have excellent rated hips, elbows, shoulders and spines, and are DM clear. Sire chosen as Universal Sieger for World's competition this year! All have seen the vet for shots and exams, have been wormed, are potty trained to a litter/pellet tray, and are started on training.

About Iko
Good old fashioned German Shepherd that can work, protect, guard the farm and is also good in the family and trustworthy with children. Iko is good with our cat, chickens, goats, grandkids, other dogs, and neighbors. She loves to play and will do anything for a chance to chase a ball or a pine cone or swim to get a floating frisbee in the lake. She loves to swim and run. She is in wonderful shape, is very agile, and has a well built body with a straight back. She has good nerves and is not fearful of slick, uneven, moving, or rough surfaces, loud noises, commotion, car rides, motors, water, stairs, etc. Her health is excellent, and her hips & elbows and spine/shoulders were tested and are rated the highest. She is DM clear and will never pass on that gene. Her official obedience, protection and tracking is very good. She's a fantastic mother. She is the shepherd the breed founder desired! Her sire was regional and national champion twice, for the United Schutzhund Clubs of America (USCA), and he was also the WUSV WORLD WINNER once.

VERY athletic and agile. Very nice working structure. Healthy. Good hips, normal elbows, DM clear by parentage. Social/neutral with people, eager to please in exchange for a game of fetch. Fast obedience. Good with chickens: can be trusted all day long with chickens. Would rehome her to the right home. Would do best as the only dog in the home, may do OK with a calm neutral male. No cats.

Good but aloof with people but protective of the vehicle. Good but aloof with other dogs & can trust her alone with my chickens all day long. Affectionate and loyal with owner. She has her IGP1 working dog title, and AKC CGC good temperament title. DM clear. Gorgeous coat. A wonderful mother.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test, Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1B), Bernese Mountain Dog Type, Dominant Black DNA Test, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
