I'm Merenda J., the breeder behind Lone Cone Kennels located in Saint George, UT. Our Motto is “Happy, healthy puppies make happy families” and that is what we strive for. We have been breeding and raising German Shepherds and American Eskimos for more than 5 years and are very dedicated to raising healthy puppies. We put time, effort and research into the health, temperament, intelligence and beauty of our breeding dogs and thus into our puppies. We treasure each puppy in our program and give them all the attention and care that we possibly can. We use the Puppy Culture and Avidog programs including ENS (early neurological stimulation) and ESI (early scent introduction) and other methods of socializing and stabilizing our puppies. We work hard so our puppies can leave our home with confidence and courage, ready to take on the world with their new family!

Our main goal is to produce and provide top quality puppies for their new families. And to us quality means healthy, mentally sound dogs with great temperaments and good looks. We are very selective of the dogs that we put into our breeding program so that we can get the best possible out of them. Our dogs are health tested for genetic disorders and hereditary diseases. We are continually striving to better the breed(s) we are breeding.What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Getting a puppy from Merenda
Merenda has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
"Price includes AKC and/or UKC registration, a unique puppy starter pack, shots, dewormings, a vet check and a health guarantee to cover genetic disorders. A waitlist deposit of $150 is required to put you on our waitlist. When pregnancy is confirmed or the puppies are born the rest of the deposit ($200 to equal the total $350) can be made to hold a deposit. Deposits go toward the price of the puppy and are non-refundable. If you put a deposit down for a puppy from a particular litter or gender and then we do not have the availability when they are born because there was not enough of the particular gender, or our female did not become pregnant, you will be allowed to move that deposit to another litter. If for any reason on our end, by the second litter we are unable to fill your needs you will have the option for a refund of the deposit or move it again to another litter."

Merenda may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Litter update on 05 July 2025 •…Happy Independence Day from Trouper!! What better way to celebrate freedom than to lay and bask in the sunshine and enjoy everything summer brings you? Or perhaps enjoy the waters edge and all the beauty that it brings? Trouper is a little goof ball, or perhaps more appropriately, a big goof ball 😉 he even pulls a wink just like it, sometimes. And to top it all off, he does love his balls and his family. He will make an exceptional companion for someone who is looking for that true faithful loyalty, then all the games of fetch and the hikes or walks and the lake days and adventures and, don’t forget, the calm relaxed bonding moments of just chillin, all that comes as a bonus package all bundled together under that beautiful golden strip of fur tucked away in that heart and soul of gold he’s just waiting for the right person or people to reveal it to. Litter update on 23 June 2025 •…We have two beautiful White German Shepherds, a fine lovely female named Taysha and a stunningly attractive male named Trouper, looking for a loving home. Taysha is a retired faithful and loving companion who has significantly contributed to the breed through the puppies she raised. Trouper, on the other hand, is a puppy we kept from one of our litters and has been an exemplary specimen of the breed. Now, they are seeking a family they can shower with love, loyalty, and affection in return for being spoiled and provided with daily exercise to meet their energetic spirits. They are quite attached to each other and will do well going together, but we will consider them going to separate homes if necessary.

Xander is a large powerful male with medium drive who is eager and anxious to please. He is very loyal and faithful to his family and loves to be with us wherever we go. When we go on hiking trips, he is constantly checking on every member of the family to make sure we are all accounted for and safe. He has medium high ball drive, food motivated, but not aggressive and he loves to learn and picks up on training quickly. He is good with kids as well as farm animals, having grown up on a farm his whole life.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
