Meet the breeder

I'm Mandy L., the breeder behind Long Haul Cresteds & Long Rotts located in New Castle, PA. My cresteds are well-balanced and bred for pet and for show. I breed for health 1st, temperament 2nd, and of course the traditional AKC standards. They are also full genetic panel and vet tested for breed associated tests. Most are ofa chic certified and have have a few generations of healthy lines now. My Rottweiler lines are well suited for therapy work. I worked for years and generations to get the results I wanted for that need. All Rottweilers that are used for breeding are JLPP tested OFA's at the correct age. i have stepped back from breeding for last few years as shelters have been so full of them. So when I plan a litter it's for me first. I sell my pups with contract only and a 1 year genetic health guarantee. I always take them back if rehoming is ever needed and for any reason. I do offer stud services to females of merit as well.

Q. & A. with Mandy

  • Why did you start breeding?

My first rottweiler was what did it for me. She was breed standard and she was gentle. She took care of my young kids like they were her own. Before I bred her I researched her lines, as much as I could on the breed, and set 2 goals for myself. 1- the kind of breeder I wanted to be was honest and caring about all my pups even after they had gone home, and 2- I wanted my lines to be therapy based working lines. I wanted them to help people more then just in bite work. Took lots of ups and downs and many defeated days, but I always keep trying to stay on too of my goals.
  • What makes your program special?

The love I put into my pups while they are with me speaks volumes when they go home. The pups aren't in secluded rooms or a garage. They are raised in my living room right in the middle of all our family life around my son and my other dogs. My goal is to keep every line healthy and health tested and I have several rottweilers out there who achieve the therapy goal and help their owners the ways I intended for them.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Mandy

Mandy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Mandy partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“I prefer to match based on Puppy's temperament and what family wants. I will also take into consideration whether family wants hairless or powderpuff as well as preference on male and female. I do not place or match specific pups until I decide if I am keeping a pup(s) (usually about 6-8 weeks old) out of the litter as I breed for my program to improve first. After I decide I will base pups and potential owners matches. I will not take deposits for placement until a week old and usually only for the amount of pups in litter minus 1 (my keeper). ”

Mandy was incredibly responsive and thorough with providing everything we needed to take home our new puppy, Delilah! She is such a well adjusted puppy and came home knowing some of those pivotal first training steps that I think really reflects the love and care Mandy has for the breed and her dogs. It aided in such a smooth transition to bringing her in to our family!

Mandy was great to work with and has a big heart for animals. In my opinion the best looking Chinese crested, of course im biased. Lol Mandy also communicated well and was willing to accommodate whatever worked best on pick up.

This whole experience was so nice. This breeder was sweet and easy to work with, and at the end of it we ended up with a sweet little girl who fit right into the family.
