Lowemond is dedicated to thoughtfully breeding exceptional German Shepherds with health, versatility, temperament and preservation at the heart of our program. Why did you start breeding?
After experiencing serious health problems in two dogs I loved, one lost to cardiac hemangioscarcoma and the other to DM. I became increasingly interested in the genetics, health and structure of the German Shepherd. That interest grew into a desire to do things differently, to make deliberate breeding decisions with the health and future of the breed in mind. That is how Lowemond began.What makes your program special?
I believe a truly beautiful German Shepherd is a functional one. At Lowemond, we look beyond appearance and health clearances to understand what we are producing. We continually educate ourselves, support research and advocate for the health and future of the breed. A portion of our puppy sales is donated to German Shepherd health research.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include stock, plush, and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Getting a puppy from Kaycee
Kaycee has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Kaycee partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
“Our matching process begins with understanding each family’s lifestyle, experience, goals, and what they are looking for in a German Shepherd. As the puppies develop, we observe their individual personalities, energy, confidence, engagement, and working tendencies. At approximately 6–7 weeks, each puppy will complete a structured temperament and aptitude assessment. We use those results, along with our observations throughout development and the family’s needs, to thoughtfully match each puppy with the home where we believe they have the greatest opportunity to thrive.”

“Individual AKC registration, 30-day Trupanion Go Home Offer, 25-month health guarantee, AKC microchip, deworming, age-appropriate vaccinations and vet check, and a 10% donation to GSD research. All Lowemond puppies are offered at the same price, regardless of size, color, or sex. Puppies are thoughtfully matched with families based on temperament, development, and the best fit for their future home.”

Parent health testing
Excellent level
Lowemond German Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Temperament Test, Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
