I'm Jamie M., the breeder behind Lux GSD located in Geauga County, OH. We're dedicated to helping you to find your perfect German Shepherd companion. We pride ourselves on our work and take pride in our dogs, too! We love our dogs and our role as breeders, and we strive to make each of our puppies a great contribution to its forever home. Our goal is to produce puppies that are healthy with sound temperament and good nerves. Why did you start breeding?
I worked in the mental health field and helped match teens with gsds for therapy purposes. I have always been passionate about mental health and German Shepherds, and I wanted to put my passion to good use. My program strives to produce exceptional family companions with a focus sound temperament and good nerves to produce dogs worthy of therapy and service work.
What makes your program special?
My puppies are raised in our home with small children and an abundance of attention. As a breeder, I am a steward for the future of the German Shepherd, so I am careful to maintain ethical breeding practices. This includes health testing, intentional breeding for specific traits, and raising my puppies with proper socialization. I am confident that each one will become a treasured family member!
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include stock, plush, and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
