I'm Jill T., the breeder behind Mafigeni Ridgebacks located in Bandera, TX. We raise family-oriented and working dogs. Our puppies go on to be great family pets and working companions. We produce litters that are healthy and sound. Our puppies have the temperament to be amazing family members and the drive and trainability to do the job they were bred to do.

Why did you start breeding?
I married a Texan and longed for my Ridgeback companion. The search began to find a pup for our Texas home. I wanted a Ridgeback with traits true to the African Ridgebacks that I have grown to love. Loyal, intelligent, protective, stamina, agility, hunting ability, gentle & patient with children, relaxed & quiet in the home, yet always alert. It took me 2 years to find one, hence my desire to start breeding.What makes your program special?
My goal is to breed Ridgebacks that are as close to the African foundation dogs as possible, without compromising health, personality traits and conformation.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are rd whtn blk nose. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
DNA Disease Panel, Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy (JME)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
