I'm Cecelia G., the breeder behind Magnolia Basset Hounds located in Morton, MS. We strive to produce high quality puppies through extensive research, selective breeding practices, and excellent care of our outstanding basset hounds. We are dedicated to meeting all the testing requirements and breed standards. Our dogs all have great temperaments, and our puppies are well socialized. Our goal is to offer excellent puppies to you that have the best chance at a long, healthy lives. Our babies can’t wait to be your child’s loving, best friend or your adoring companion. Hugs and sloppy kisses begin here.

Q. & A. with Cecelia

  • Why did you start breeding?

We had a male basset hound. My daughter had a corgi puppy that had a genetic abnormality in its stomach, and we had to put it down. I could not find a corgi puppy but there were some basset puppies, and she wanted a mate for Boo. This is where our story begins.
  • What makes your program special?

I have worked years to import some of the best quality dogs from Italy, Ukraine, Czech Republic, and Brazil. I seek the advice of experts who have raised bassets for over 40 years. and professional handlers who know the basset hound conformation. All my dogs and puppies are tested for all 5 of the most prevalent basset diseases so you know what you are getting.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white black and red, red and white, mahogany and white, and black red and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
