Meet the breeder

I'm Amanda S., the breeder behind Mainstreet Dalmation located in Fort Cavasos, TX. Every puppy we raise is adored as part of our family from birth. Our puppies will complete your home, your family, and your heart! We are a small enough program that we are able to thoroughly focus on each individual dog and puppy and their needs. We take pride in the time and dedication we give to every litter.

Q. & A. with Amanda

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding by doing my research years ago and wanted to ensure I went into knowing as much as possible. I wanted to ensure I would be bettering the line and producing healthy puppies. We did our research and found amazing breeders who are still involved with our journey, encouraging us every step of the way it takes a village, and we have been blessed with an amazing Dalmatian community
  • What makes your program special?

What makes us unique is we breed based on health and temperament. We love the breed and want to ensure we are bettering the breed the best way we can. All of our puppies are vetted, shot, dewormed, and anything a vet recommends. They have Bear testing done with OFA paperwork. We work closely with our vet to ensure that the puppies' momma and dad are cared for properly.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white and liver brown and white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Good level

Mainstreet Dalmation reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Dalmatians.

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Amanda was super helpful from beginning to end. I had no idea how I would get a pup from TX to WV, but she knew! I got lots of pictures and video to make sure I was making the right choice for us. Our tri-color beautiful runt of the litter from Mainstreet Dalmatians has adapted well and has filled our hearts with puppy love again!
