Meet the breeder

I'm Elesha P., the breeder behind Mama’s Mastiffs located in Carthage, MO. Each litter has been meticulously planned with emphasis placed on temperament, health, conformation, and size. We strive for the whole package. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality mastiffs for our families, and have been since 2006.

Q. & A. with Elesha

  • Why did you start breeding?

I’ve always had dogs but I was never owned by one until my English Mastiffs. I fell in love with them when I was 22 and began researching the breed extensively. The more I learned the more I wanted to make it better and stronger.
  • What makes your program special?

All of my gentle giants are raised in my home as part of my family with my family. They are all DNA health tested for CMR-1, DM, PRA-D, and Cystinuria 3. They are also, at minimum, OFA certified hips, elbows, patellas, and cardiac. They are fed a high-quality diet and get supplemented raw foods, bones, and treats. My dogs are my family more than a breeding program.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include apricot, fawn, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Working with Elesha from Mama's Mastiffs was exactly what I needed to get through this process. She has connections for everything including getting my new baby from Missouri to sunny Southern California. She is expert in her knowledge of mastiffs and so patiently redirected my many misteps once I had him home. She didn't just leave me once she received payment. She spent many days talking me through all my questions as a new mastiff momma. She talked me down when I felt overwhelmed. She laughed with me over all of Oso's insane shinanigans. Thank you Elesha for making this an amazing experience.

Topaz has fit right into our family. I was concerned about how Topaz and our two year old dog would get along but he has taken over as her father. They play together very well. Topaz sleeps in the bed with my wife and I. I want to thank you for Topaz. She has a great attitude and I would not hesitate to get another puppy from you in the future. Thank you.

I picked Elesha as our breeder because it was evident she cares a lot about her dogs and puppies. Elesha kept us updated along the whole process and answered any questions or concerns we had. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable and prepared for our puppy! Wenonah is the best puppy we could have asked for … she is kind, loving, smart, confident, and sassy! These puppies were for sure loved and cared for before leaving for their forever homes. If I ever get another mastiff, I will definitely choose Elesha as our breeder again!

I am extremely happy about my experience with Elesha from Mama's Mastiffs. She responded quickly to inquires, the adoption process was easy, she was very friendly and helpful with the puppy transport process. Our beautiful little girl arrived freshly bathed with trimmed nails, packets of her food, some toys and all paperwork. She had an appropriate deworming and vaccination history. I have been a veterinarian for 25 years and seen the gamut from breeders. I highly recommend Elesha and her beautiful puppies.
