I'm Elesha P., the breeder behind Mama’s Mastiffs located in Carthage, MO. Each litter has been meticulously planned with emphasis placed on temperament, health, conformation, and size. We strive for the whole package. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality mastiffs for our families, and have been since 2006.

Why did you start breeding?
I’ve always had dogs but I was never owned by one until my English Mastiffs. I fell in love with them when I was 22 and began researching the breed extensively. The more I learned the more I wanted to make it better and stronger.What makes your program special?
All of my gentle giants are raised in my home as part of my family with my family. They are all DNA health tested for CMR-1, DM, PRA-D, and Cystinuria 3. They are also, at minimum, OFA certified hips, elbows, patellas, and cardiac. They are fed a high-quality diet and get supplemented raw foods, bones, and treats. My dogs are my family more than a breeding program.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, fawn, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Litter update on 26 Jan. •…Puppies’ first snow day! The coldest temp they’ve ever felt too lol. It was 13°F with a windchill feel of -2°F. They had 10 minutes of solid fun before it was time to head back inside to warmth.

Litter update on 18 Jan. •…17°F Today so inside play it is! Potty training is going super great! We expanded the pen AGAIN! They have twice as much room and have to leave the play side to go potty (knowing to leave the fun to potty and come back to the fun is a huge milestone). The next couple of weeks there will be lots of “new” before they start heading out to their wonderful families.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), GenSol Diagnostics DNA Testing
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

+8Working with Elesha was a wonderful experience. She knows her puppies. I gave her a idea on traits that I would like my puppy to have. One was a lay back personality, Myself being a Senior I wanted a puppy that would love to play but also enjoyed laying on the couch. My pup will turn 1 yr old tomorrow February 15 th. She is amazing, keeps me laughing and loves cuddling in the morning while I have my coffee. She also loves to cuddle any time that I need it. Elesha made sure her puppies were healthy. I have a very healthy girl named Elizabeth Catherine AKA brownie .. I had a lot of questions even though I've had dogs since I was little, each breed is different. Elesha answered all my questions promptly. She is a responsible breeder who loves the breed. If I were to ever want another sibling for Elizabeth Catherine it would be through MAMA'S MASTIFFS because I trust her she has always been true to her word and if I have questions I know I can reach out to her. I picked Elesha as our breeder because it was evident she cares a lot about her dogs and puppies. Elesha kept us updated along the whole process and answered any questions or concerns we had. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable and prepared for our puppy! Wenonah is the best puppy we could have asked for … she is kind, loving, smart, confident, and sassy! She responded quickly to inquires, the adoption process was easy, she was very friendly and helpful with the puppy transport process. Our beautiful little girl arrived freshly bathed with trimmed nails, packets of her food, some toys and all paperwork. She had an appropriate deworming and vaccination history. I have been a veterinarian for 25 years and seen the gamut from breeders. I highly recommend Elesha and her beautiful puppies.
