Mamemo Bernese Mountain Dogs

Lamartine S.

Breeder of Bernese Mountain Dogs

Meet the breeder

I'm Lamartine S., the breeder behind Mamemo Bernese Mountain Dogs located in Colorado Springs, CO. My dogs are bred to be beautiful animals that can excel in the show ring and excel in other venues. I want dogs that are healthy, sound happy working dogs. Health testing is very important to me to ensure I am breeding the healthiest dogs.

Q. & A. with Lamartine

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have wanted to breed for 10 years. It can take a long time to get a female that passes all the tests and is worthy of breeding. When you do a lot with your dogs, you want to have the ability to breed your own puppies.
  • What makes your program special?

I am not just breeding to perpetuate the look that makes a Bernese Mountain dog special. I want to have a working dog that would make a great farm dog. A dog that is obedient, agile enough to work on a farm, enjoys pulling a cart, and has the temperament to be a farm dog. Of course, that dog needs to be sound and healthy, and long-lived as well.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
