I'm the breeder behind MarathonK9 Kennel located in Aberdeen, NC. Our dogs are bred with purpose and stability in mind. We aim to produce dogs that have the physical and mental endurance to perform the jobs necessary for a utility dog, be it apprehension, area searching, tracking, or competition bite work.
Q. & A. with Clover
Why did you start breeding?
My company, evolved into developing dogs as many of my clients have been asking for years for me to provide dogs for law enforcement and for personal protection. As I got into the competition arena, the goal was to produce dogs that were environmentally sound and can perform to the best of the breed's abilities.
What makes your program special?
My breeding program is a combination of research and heart. The dogs we plan to produce have to be capable of saving lives of their handlers, apprehending suspects, finding suspicious odors, be stable in the home, and compete at the highest level on the trial field.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
