Q. & A. with Marian
Why did you start breeding?
I helped plan litters for a well known breeder, observing key attributes that produced excellent Borzoi. I have rarely bred, but when I have, it was because I had two exceptional dogs who I felt would advance the quality of the breed.
What makes your program special?
My breeding program pairs a sire and a dam with exceptional temperament. I research my dog's lines for health and longevity. Given the length of time I have studied and been active in the Borzoi breed, I have a fairly extensive knowledge of dogs in my dogs' pedigrees, which helps guide me.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Emily
Emily is a lovely, 2 1/2 year old girl who came to us from breeders in Canada. Emily is descended from Group winning/FCH dogs. At Emily's first conformation show, a Northern California, Borzoi Specialty, Emily was awarded best puppy in show. Emily has an exceptional, loving nature. She is also exceptionally smart. I can tell her something once, and she understands immediately. She is a very good hunter, but at the same time is very attached to our indoor cats. Emily is a favorite of humans and other dogs.
Silver, dad

About Silver
Silver will be 4 years old this month. Silver is an athletic, loving, outgoing, smart boy. He comes from Champion and Best In Show lines. Silver was raised with my indoor cats, and his temperament is very sweet.

Marian Broadhurst reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Borzois.
