I'm Mary C., the breeder behind Maringa Basenji located in Branchburg, NJ. We invest so much effort into raising each litter to help prepare our puppies for a lifetime of love with their new families. It is important that we speak before any applications will be accepted. Why did you start breeding?
We bred our girl Kholiwe for the first time in 2017 for our first litter. The puppies from this first litter all went to family members. Placing our puppies in good homes is our priority. Basenjis are a unique breed and not for everyone. Please go to my website for further information. Please call me if you have an interest. No applications will be taken until i speak with you.What makes your program special?
While we are looking to produce top show dogs our priority is ALWAYS temperament first. We socialize our puppies before placement as much as possible. They are crate trained and exposed to vacuums and other noises as much as possible. If you have an interest please call me NO applications will be accepted without a conversation. I encourage a visit to my home to meet my dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include tri-color, black brindle and white, black and white, and red and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
PRA, Basenji Type, Fanconi Syndrome
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
