I'm Crystal B., the breeder behind Masai's Pride Rhodesian Ridgbacks located in Greenville, OH. We keep a variety of factors in mind when choosing dogs to breed, including health, temperament, pedigree, and complementary traits, so that puppies can inherit the best of both parents.
Q. & A. with Crystal
Why did you start breeding?
In 2000 I decided to begin breeding Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I had had them for 21 years at that point and I was highly dissatisfied with the quality of RR I was seeing in the US. To me, they began looking like greyhounds and I had always known RR to have a muscular build with a boxy head.
What makes your program special?
Due to my dissatisfaction with the RR I was finding available I began to look overseas. That is where I found what I’ve always known to be a true ridgeback. I have imported RR from various countries since 2000 and I’m ecstatic regarding the look, temperament and health of my RR.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include wheaten blk nose and rd whtn blk nose. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
