Meet the breeder

I'm Taylor R., the breeder behind Mesquite Kennels located in Abilene, TX. Our mission is to raise healthy, happy, adorable Goldendoodle and Poodle puppies and connect loving families with their new best friend! Raising puppies has been so much fun, although we take our role in raising them seriously. Breeding has helped us share the joy of our dogs with other families.

Q. & A. with Taylor

  • Why did you start breeding?

I (Taylor) grew up breeding Golden Retrievers. I absolutely love the breed and have a lot of good memories of growing up breeding. We fell in love with Poodles and Goldendoodles over the years and I've always wanted my kids to have the same experiences I had growing up. We also love being a part of sharing quality Goldendoodles and Poodles with others!

  • What makes your program special?

We are a family with allergies and have found hypoallergenic dogs allow us to have our furry family members without all the allergy related sickness. We love to offer the same for others! We've invested in quality dogs to better the breed, and have a high value on early training and preparation of our puppies to help the transition to their forever homes go as well as possible!

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Goldendoodle puppies include medium and standard sizes. Poodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Goldendoodle puppies are red. Poodle puppies are red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I’m incredibly happy with my pup, Dallas (Hunter). He’s already 8 months old, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better dog. He’s intelligent, calm, gentle, and so incredibly docile. He has an amazing temperament, learns quickly, and has been such a joy to raise. I’m also really happy with the breeder I chose. Dallas has been everything I hoped for and more. If anyone is looking for a Standard Poodle, I definitely recommend them based on my experience. Thank you so much for such an amazing companion. I couldn’t be happier with my boy.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Taylor from Mesquite Kennels! ❤️ From the very beginning, Taylor was incredibly kind, patient, helpful, and always willing to answer all of our questions. Since this was our first puppy, we had a lot to learn, and Taylor made the entire process so much easier and more comfortable for us. We received regular photos and videos while our puppy was growing, and Taylor explained everything we needed to know before bringing him home. Our little Tommy (Jett) has been such a wonderful addition to our family. 🐶❤️ He is healthy, beautiful, playful, curious, and full of personality. We can already see how smart and loving he is, and every day we become more attached to him. It’s also very clear that the puppies were raised with a lot of love and care. Tommy came home happy, social, curious, and ready to explore everything around him. What we especially appreciate is that Taylor’s support didn’t end when we picked Tommy up. Even now, whenever we have questions about feeding, training, puppy biting, or anything else, Taylor is always happy to share advice and experience with us. That means a lot, especially as first-time puppy owners. We are incredibly grateful for our Tommy and for such a wonderful experience from beginning to end. We would absolutely recommend Taylor and Mesquite Kennels to anyone looking for a wonderful puppy and a breeder who truly cares about her dogs and the families they go to. Thank you so much for everything, Taylor! We love our little boy more and more every day! ❤️🐾

Taylor was so responsive and knowledgeable about their dogs. He sent detailed messages about the dogs along with pictures until they were ready for pick up. Our dog has the sweetest demeanor and has adjusted well. I feel that is because Taylor and his family make sure to prepare them well for the transition. We had a great experience with Taylor!
