I'm Kimberly S., the breeder behind Mikanon located in Houston, TX. Our dogs are family members and we want them to be part of your family. Each litter is born in our house and raised with our entire family working together. We are a 2nd generation Elkhound breeder. We are learning from breeders on Papillons. They are all family regardless.

Why did you start breeding?
My parents bred Norwegian Elkhounds and I wanted to continue with it as I love the breed. For Papillons we got involved in breeding when our co-owner asked for us to breed one and whelp the litter. Our kids love it and the puppies are so good with all the noises and kids.What makes your program special?
Our kids help whelp the puppies and they are always doing things with the puppies. We get the puppies around all sorts of noises and items (wheelchairs, scooter, walkers). We want the puppy to be able to around family and be calm when need be. We start house breaking by 4 weeks old. We want a well round healthy puppy before it leaves our house.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Kimberly
Kimberly has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Kimberly partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA), Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
