By using Good Dog, you agree to abide by our terms and policies, including this On-Platform Payment Policy and our Terms of Service. In the event of a violation, your account may be suspended or terminated.

In order to protect our community and company, all deposit and dog payments, including payments at pickup, between Good Breeders and Good Dog buyers  must be made securely on Good Dog. Every payment you receive through Good Dog is protected by The Good Dog Breeder Guarantee, which means you’re protected from scammers, chargebacks, canceled payments, and unauthorized refunds.

Any such payments or dog placements that are made outside of Good Dog with Good Dog buyers violate our terms. Good Dog buyers are any individuals who connect with you via Good Dog (e.g. applies to your program or sends you a message, etc).  If any Good Dog buyers or breeders ask you to make or receive an off-platform deposit or dog payment, please let us know by contacting help@gooddog.com for assistance. We note that Good Breeders are welcome, though not required, to use secure payments on Good Dog with non-Good Dog buyers.

What's not permitted?

In accordance with our policy, the following actions are not permitted when working with Good Dog buyers:

• Accepting cash or any other form of payment outside of Good Dog in-person at puppy pickup 
• Requesting, making, or accepting deposits or dog payments outside of Good Dog
• Refunding deposits or dog payments to make or receive payments outside of Good Dog

How do I categorize payments made on Good Dog?

All deposits (if applicable) and final payments from Good Dog buyers must be processed through Good Dog with the correct payment category selected as defined below.

Payment category definitions: 

• Deposit: Refers to any payment(s) made to reserve or hold a puppy
• Dog payment: Refers to the full puppy price minus any deposits already made. This includes all installment payments, if applicable.
• Other payments: Refers exclusively to any puppy related costs that are not deposits or dog payments, such as transportation, puppy supplies, food etc.

Any incorrect payment categorization may violate our On-Platform Payment Policy. 

How does this apply to Good Dog buyers?

Buyers are required to complete deposit and dog payments on Good Dog in line with this policy. They can choose to pay on Good Dog with zero fees or with Protection & Support for a small fee, which includes free access to Good Dog’s Puppy Training Program ($235 value), exclusive discounts from our partners, lifetime support from our team of experts, and more!

If buyers choose to complete their payment with Protection & Support, the fee is listed completely separately from your prices, which are always in your control, and no Protection & Support fees are ever taken out of the amount you’re paid.
