Q. & A. with MJ
Why did you start breeding?
I bred for myself Gordon Setters, which I field worked and competing in obedience and hunt test and conformation events.
I love the Irish Setter and have found this breed in need of what I have to offer. I am preservation breeder which looks at the health and characteristics of the old lines of Irish Setters and aim to bring that health and temperament to the table.
What makes your program special?
I have to offer the breeding programs healthy, sound conformation that can work a field all day. I am uniting these attributes of a few foreign lines with the healthiest of American lines to bring forward some of the old Irish Setter characteristics without losing the beauty and type our breeders have worked so hard to create.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red and mahogany. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
