I'm Debby M., the breeder behind Mohr Whippets located in Xenia, OH. We have been involved in purebred dogs since 2001. Our first litter of Whippets was bred in 2005. We focus on breeding healthy dogs with good temperaments, that have been health tested, and conform to the breed standard.
Q. & A. with Debby
Why did you start breeding?
We began showing dogs in 2001 with a lovely Irish Wolfhound named Lynn - ArMaitiu Mohr Calynn of Eagle bred by Sam Ewing. The whole family caught the "dog show bug" and when our young son wanted to join in, we went looking for a smaller sighthound breed for him to show in Junior Showmanship. We were lucky to find a handsome young Whippet puppy who fit the bill and have been in love with the breed ever since.
What makes your program special?
Puppies are whelped and raised in our home where they receive the socialization they need. We utilize the Puppy Culture program to give our puppies the best start possible. We believe in breeding only healthy dogs with good temperaments that have been health tested as recommended by the Whippet Health Foundation and conform to the breed standard.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
